Sparkx is the place where sports, entertainment, and technology meet. As Europe’s largest sportainment park (with locations in Antwerp, Hasselt, and Ghent in Belgium, among others), we challenge young and old to discover over 50 sports through the latest technologies. In the second half of 2026, Sparkx will open its first park in the Netherlands in Utrecht.

As an innovative and fast-growing company within the sportainment sector, we are looking for a driven hospitality manager who wants to commit to our ambitious mission and grow alongside our organization.

Responsibilities

As a technical employee – host, you are an indispensable link in providing an optimal experience for our visitors. Your tasks are highly diverse and include:

• Preventive Maintenance and Repair: Ensuring daily preventive maintenance and fast, efficient repairs to guarantee operational continuity.

• Safety Checks and Compliance: Meticulously performing safety checks and ensuring that all installations consistently meet applicable standards and procedures.
• Registration and Reporting: Ensuring the accurate registration of all interventions and malfunctions, and clearly reporting your findings to the Technical Operations Manager.
• Communication and External Contacts: Collaborating closely with the operational team and acting as the central point of contact for communication with external suppliers and subcontractors.
• Innovation and Efficiency: Actively contributing ideas for technical improvements and innovations to optimize operational efficiency and the experience value of the attractions.
• Operational Support and Guest Focus: Being flexibly deployable within the park, which includes temporarily taking over positions at attractions to support colleagues. You are actively present on the shop floor (“floating”) to help visitors, answer questions, and intervene immediately in the event of malfunctions or defects.

You are employed at Sparkx Utrecht and report directly to the manager.

Your Profile

You are a technical expert with the right drive! You have a technical education (such as electromechanics or electricity) or have built up an equivalent level through experience. You are highly technically skilled, handy with various tools, and have extensive experience with both mechanical and electrical systems. Knowledge of IT systems and PLC controls is considered a major plus.

Like a true top athlete, you work with drive and focus (We play to win!). You work very independently, plan your time efficiently, and see analyzing and solving complex problems as a challenge. A keen eye for safety, order, and cleanliness is essential, as you follow procedures meticulously.

Finally, you have a flexible mindset and are willing to work in shifts and/or during weekends, because our action doesn’t stop after 5:00 PM. You are eager to learn, stress-resistant, and communicate fluently in Dutch with both colleagues and suppliers. A final, important requirement: having no fear of heights is an absolute must!
